Ocean Shores!

A couple weeks ago our friends invited us to go with them to the ocean.  They had plans to go for a couple days, but that didn't work into our schedule so we decided to go down and meet them for the day.  And I'm really glad we did!  We had a great time, and that is even with Kayden getting car sick on the way there!  Yikes.

We only made it about 45 minutes into our two and a half hour drive before Kayden got sick.  I felt bad for the little guy.  We had to pull over on the side of the freeway to try and clean some of it, but then we took the next exit so we could get him changed..  Luckily, the convenience store we stopped at had children's Dramamine so we gave him that, and were back on the road.  I'm glad Kyle didn't listen to me when I said we should turn around and go home, because we had such a great day.

The trip was amazing and we had such a great time with our friends.  They have two kids, their daughter is one week shy from turning the BIG 0-4 and their son is 14 months.  Very cute kids.

The weather was awesome today, it was warm, but with the wind blowing it made it just right.  We put sunscreen on Kayden, but Kyle and I neglected to do the same and, well, my face is looking a little lobster-ish!  It is ok, though, we had a great time and it was worth it.

Here are some pictures of our fun trip!

Love, love, love this picture!

Playing Outside!

We had some nice weather today so we (Kayden, Charlie & I) took advantage of it and played outside most of the afternoon. Here are some pictures of Kayden and Charlie playing in the sandbox. Kayden just loves that thing. He runs right up to it and flips the lid off and just goes to town digging dirt and filling up the bucket! Too fun.

When life gives you strawberries, you make jam!

The other day my mom came over and we made strawberry & raspberry jam and they turned out YUMMY!  Kayden, of course, being the hands on kid wanted to help, so he propped him up on the counter and he helped make jam!  Here are some too cute pictures.

And here is our final product, we ended up with 24 cans total.  Yum!
Charlie also did some work in the kitchen!  Yesterday she baked Uncle Kyle a cake, but she wasn't able to frost it until today!  She came over just a little bit ago and finished it up!  Kyle hasn't been feeling well so she thought making him a cake would help him feel better, and I think she is right.  She can't wait for him to come home from work to show him.  Didn't she do a great job?

Snoqualmie Falls

Today Kyle and I took Kayden to Snoqualmie Falls for a train ride, unfortunately there was so much foliage in the way it was difficult to actually see the falls, but that was ok because we had a great time.  Kayden was absolutely awesome on the train ride, it was 70 minutes and he sat in his seat the whole time.  He just enjoyed looking out the window and waving to all the cars.  He just kept saying "bye bye" as we passed people.

After the train ride we drove to the falls and went to the scenic viewpoint, which was awesome.  Kayden didn't really understand the neatness of the falls, but he was still great.  He loved just being outside and had fun running around.

It was a great day and we had a wonderful time.  Here are some pictures of our day trip.

Playing in one of the toy trains

I'm not looking at you, you've already taken too many pictures of me today.

Ok, maybe a couple more won't hurt.

Waiting for the train ride to start.

Here is my ticket.

My legs couldn't handle anymore walking so I needed to catch a lift.

Sand Box

The Siegman's gave us their old sand box (thank you!) and Kayden just loves it.  He had a chance to get in it today and play and he had a great time.  He dug and dug and poured sand out of his pail, he just had a great time.  I hope we start getting nice weather so he can enjoy it a few more times before the fall and winter come!

Had to get a pail so we could play
