Uncle Phil and Aunt Cathy Visit

A while back Uncle Phil contacted Kyle and asked if we would be interested in meeting him and Aunt Cathy in Ellensburg for the day.  They were thinking about making a trip out this way to do some catching up with the family.

The day came last Saturday.  We headed out around 9:00 am and made it to Ellensburg around 11:00.  We all grabbed a bite to eat at a local restaurant and then headed back to their campground for swimming and hanging out.  It was nice to have everyone there, Cindy, Jim, Christy, Dean, Charlie and ourselves.

The big and little kids rented bikes and rode them around the campground after swimming and getting the keys that had locked themselves in Cindy's trunk out.  Thankfully, Kyle has some "breaking into car" skills and were able to get the keys out!  Then it was time to have fun on the bikes.

Dean rented a bike too, but sadly, I didn't get a picture. :(
Then it was time for some family pictures.

And lastly, the three proud boys showing off their bald heads.  The day was a huge success, with us all staying until well after dinner.  We had a great visit and look forward to other visits in the future with Uncle Phil and Aunt Cathy.

Ocean Trip 2013

For the last three summers we have either gone to the Ocean for the weekend or just for the day and each year we have a great time.

This year we ended up just going for the day and the weather ended up being overcast, but not cold, which is nice around here.  Our beaches are usually very cold and windy, even in the summer, so to have a day where the weather was enjoyable is a nice change.

Like the last three years, we have met our friends, Heather and Tommy and their two kids.  It is so nice for Kayden to have someone his age to play with.  We played in the sand, the water and flew kites.  Walked through the Biker Festival, that was fun.  Lot of different booths with Biker attire and accessories.  Went to the arcade and did bumper cars and mini gold, both rather challenging with young children, but fun nonetheless.

Love this little guy.

I will probably curse myself for admitting this out loud, but this guy is getting easier and easier to parent everyday.  Three has been hard, but I feel like four is going to bring new and exciting things for Kayden and his growing as a boy.  He's learned how to use his words, explain what he wants/needs, can follow a list of instructions and, generally, does what is asked.  Can't wait to see wait four has in store for us.

Kids Craft Day

One day last week I invited some of Kayden's friends over for a craft day.  It started out with six kids, and dwindled down to three, and in the end we ended up with four and it worked out great.  The weather was great so we were able to work on the project outside, yahoo for that.  Three year olds and paint equals a bad idea to do inside!

And then we had a duck join the party.

Kayden wanted his picture taken with the baby.

After the kids were done with their painting they further enjoyed running around the yard, jumping on the trampoline, and picking blackberries.  Can't wait for the next kids craft day!

Remlinger Farms

This post is VERY late.  Oops.

A few weeks ago, maybe even a month ago some friends and us went to Remlinger Farms in Carnation.  We have gone before and have had a blast each time.

We went with our friends, Shelley, Blake, Silvia and Emma.  The kids all get along so well and we really did pick a nice day to go.  The weather was warm and there weren't a lot of people there.  Each kid had their favorite part and Kayden's was the mini roller coaster, we only rode it four times in a row.

Kayden also loved riding the horses, which is why we did it twice.  First time he rode Peaches and the second, Spice.  It surprises me that he does so well with horses, but is terrified of dogs.  Maybe because horses are calmer?  Who knows.

Anyway, it was a great time and Kayden loved every minute of it.

We also rode the tilt-a-whirl a few times.

We really have had a great summer this year and we have enjoyed every minute of each nice day.
