First Wish Bone

Believe it or not, Kyle and I have had a wish bone sitting in our kitchen windowsill since Turkey Day 2010! Our intentions were to have Charlie and Kayden break it, but every opportunity that we have had, the wish bone has just been forgotten. So tonight Charlie was over so we figured it was the perfect opportunity for the two to go at it, so they sat in the living room, Charlie took one side and Kayden the other, after a couple seconds of tug-o-war, Kayden was victorious. Since he is really too little to understand the concept of making a wish, Kyle took his wish and wished for Kayden to sleep through the night, so I hope the wish comes true. :)

Helping with watering the plants

Kayden just loves to help in the yard, I mean, what isn't there to love about digging in the dirt, except to poor water on the dirt first to turn it into mud! Luckily we haven't had too many messy mud days, just yet. Here are some pictures of Kayden helping me water.

Bubbles!

We had a couple very nice days here recently, so Kayden and I took advantage of it and played outside, we had a great time. He is at that age where bubbles are the coolest thing, so Kyle had the great idea to purchase an automatic bubble machine. Kayden had so much fun with it. Swim Lessons

We had Kayden's first swim lessons today and, well, it didn't really go as well as I had thought. Normally Kayden loves the water and his baths, so I thought swim lessons would be so much fun for him. Well, I was a little wrong. He didn't do so well until about half way through them. It was finally time to break out the toys and teach the kids how to rotate their arms and that finally got the tears to stop. After that it was all smiles.

Easter 2011

We hope everyone had a great Easter, we sure did here. We went over to a family friend's house for an hour or two then headed over to Jim & Cindy's house to spend the rest of the day. We had great food, good company and a lot of fun. Kayden searched for Easter eggs and did well, actually. Next year will be even more fun, I think, when he actually grasps the concept of finding the eggs.

Spring Fair!

The weekend before Easter the three of us went out and enjoyed a local spring fair. It was a lot of fun, but a bit disappointing since Kayden was too small to go on any of the rides. I would have loved to take him down that big slide, he would have loved it too! Oh, well, maybe next year. Even though he couldn't go on any rides, he just loved to people watch (Grandma Sally would be so proud!) and enjoyed looking at the animals. We were in one of the barns and they were lining up some sheep to be auctioned off and it baa'd right in front of Kayden and that jolted him a bit, but he didn't cry, so we moved on and looked at some cows and chickens. Kayden was able to play one of the games there, it was a fishing game, and he did really well. He even won a stuffed banana!

The little guy was so tired that he could hardly stay awake, but he managed to keep those little blue eyes open until we got in the car, then it was lights out.

Playing Outside

Well, the weather man was wrong about the weather today. He said it was going to be rainy all day, but we ended up having fabulous weather. So, I took Kayden outside to play on his new slide. He had so much fun, it was a bit cold outside, but when the weather is nice around here you take advantage of it, regardless of the temperature.

Hood Canal

Kyle had last week off so we took advantage of it and went to Hood Canal. Kayden had such a great time playing on the beach and throwing rocks in the water. He just loved exploring everything, oysters, clams, rocks, sand, puddles and whatever else he could find on the beach. The cold weather didn't deter him from having a good time. By the time we were done at the beach he was covered from head to toe in sand, it even managed to find it's way into his diaper. He didn't like that so much, but really, who would. LOL. Needless to say, he had more baths in the four day period we were gone than he ever has. Ok, maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but he did have a lot of baths while we were gone. Here are some pictures of our fun trip. I can't wait for the sun to come out around here so we can go to some local beaches and have some more fun.

Visit from California

Last week we had family up from California and we all really had a great time. Kayden's Great Papa & Nana were here along with his Uncle, 2 Aunts, 1 cousin & his Great, Great Aunt.

Having Fun Playing in the Dirt

Today we had a lot of fun playing outside. It was a nice day here, which is unusual this time of year. It is normally rainy, but today, we lucked out with nice weather and took advantage of it by doing some yard work and playing outside.

Kayden had a great time playing in the dirt, which is rather unusual for him. For those that don't know, he likes to be clean. He sits in his highchair and if crumbs from a cracker or a smear of yogurt gets on the tray or if his hands get dirty, he needs to clean it up before he will continue eating. So, it was a shock to see how much fun he was having playing in the dirt. Here are some pictures of our great day outside.

Just Having Fun

Well, things around here are beginning to get back to normal now that Kayden is feeling better. We only have two doses left of his medication and he'll be good as new. He got sick last week. I took him into the dr and found out the little guy had a bad ear infection. We started antibiotics and it only took a day or two for him to be feeling much, much better. So, now that we are almost done with the medicine things are starting to get back on track. He's happy as can be, running around and climbing on everything!
