Easter

We hope everyone had a great Easter.  Ours was great, it started off with beautiful weather, then the afternoon lead us to more gorgeous weather and a great Easter lunch with lots of family and friends.  We hosted at our house again this year and enjoyed it immensely.  I didn't do a total head count, but I think it was around the 20+ people mark.

Everyone had a great time and the food was awesome.  We ordered a Honey Baked Ham and Dean deep fried two turkeys, which was amazingly good.  My first experience with one and it smelled and tasted great.  Christy made a gorgeous carrot cake in addition to bacon wrapped chestnuts and deviled eggs.  Cindy provided her delish scalloped potatoes and my mom made our family favorite, Overnight salad, in addition to cream cheese mints and cream cheese and green olive stuffed celery.  Don't knock it until you try it.  It's tasty!  And that is just a small list of the whole spread we had to chow down on.

The kids had a great time running around outside and enjoying the sunshine, trampoline and play set.  I bought Pin the Tail on the Bunny and the kids had fun with that.  Then of course, we hunted for Easter eggs.  The kids favorite activity!

Let me back up to the morning.  Like I said in my previous post, Kayden didn't get up until 10:15 Easter morning, so it took him a while to wake up enough to want to hunt for his Easter basket.  He's still at the age where he doesn't know what holidays are coming and when they actually are.  So, even though I have been telling him Easter is coming, he didn't wake up in the morning knowing it was Easter.  Once he realized the Easter Bunny had stopped by, the fun began for each of us.

Here he is looking for his basket.

Daddy, I don't know where it is.

He was so excited once he found it.  He loved looking in the basket to find what the Easter Bunny left.

He was excited to show me his dinosaur and chocolate candy, excited enough to let me get a picture.  When he pulled the candy out of his basket he said, "Hey, I saw these at the store."
Once we finished up the Easter basket at home, we headed over to Nini's house.

Then it was time for Easter lunch!  Yummy.

After eating it was time for hunting!  Each kid was able to find 27 eggs and we let the kids three years old and under get a head start.

After the Easter party died down and everyone left, Christy, Charlie, Ranger, Kyle, Kayden and myself went down to a local fishing pond and fed the ducks.  It was really hard not to take full advantage of the nice, warm weather.  It really was like a summer day, but in March, which is rather rare here in Seattle.

Once we were finished feeding the ducks, we took a little bit of a scenic tour home and found these cows.  We also drove by Redondo to look at the water, unfortunately though, I didn't get any pictures.  Maybe next time.  We hope everyone enjoyed their Easter and had as nice of a day as we did.
