Kayden's First Bite!

Sorry it has taken so long to post this, I was trying to upload the video of Kayden taking his first bite, but was having trouble figuring it out. So, instead, I have pictures.
Kayden had his first bite of rice cereal on Saturday and he didn't seem to mind it too much. He ate it and seemed to enjoy it until about half way through when he started crying. Kyle and I thought it was pretty fun to watch, but boy, was it messy. I was surprised at how well Kayden did with the spoon though. He seemed to have it figured out for the most part. He likes to bite the spoon and not let it go, he's discovered his teeth and how you can bite things to hold onto them. He does the same thing with his pacifier and bottle, it's a real fun game to him. Well, enjoy the pictures of Kayden taking his first bites!
Kyle getting ready to assemble the high chair. Look, those are instructions in his hand, we are off to a good start!
Kyle assembling the high chair, so far so good.
Kayden watching and waiting! And it is assembled! Good job, Kyle!!!
Kayden waiting for his first bite! Well, did I make a big enough mess???

Kayden's Six Month Check Up

Kayden had his six month check up today and he's growing perfectly. He's 28 inches and 16 lbs. The dr. gave us the go ahead to give him solid foods so we'll start this weekend with rice cereal and introduce new foods once a week from there. I'll post pictures of him taking his first bite of "real" food. So, check back often.
Here are some pictures we had taken last weekend. All of them turned out so cute, it was hard to narrow it down to just a few.

Kayden 6 Months!

Kayden's six month birthday was yesterday! I know I say this in almost every post, but he's getting so big, it's crazy. We go in on Thursday for his six month check up and I don't look forward to those at all. I love finding out his weight, heights and discussing his development, but I hate the shots, probably more than Kayden does. It is so hard to know he's going to be crying at the end of the appointment. Luckily it is only for a few minutes, but it still is hard for a parent to witness it. He takes one look at the nurse and starts crying, it's sad. He loves the dr though. He smiles like crazy at her and talks to her, it's fun to see, but as soon as the nurse arrives, it's back to tears. Poor guy and poor nurse. It must be an awful feeling knowing every time this kids sees you he cries! No one wants to make a kid cry.
We've had a good weekend, made some progress around the house. Yesterday we went and got Kayden's pictures taken and then went for a drive. The weather here was so nice that Kyle and I had to take advantage of it and get out there. So, we took a drive and then did some walking around, it was fun. Kayden had a good time also, he really enjoys being outside and looks awfully cool in his shades. He surprisingly doesn't try to remove them. Here are some pictures of Kayden in his shades and some taken on his six month birthday! Enjoy.

Kayden rolled over from his back to stomach!

Kayden just rolled over from his back to his stomach for the first time just a few minutes ago! He's been rolling over from his stomach to back for a couple months now, but hasn't done it the other way around until tonight. I'm very excited! Seeing him develop has been so much fun! I'll keep you posted on what happens next. He has his 6 month check up next week and will let you know how it goes. I dread those appointments, the immunization shots are miserable for both of us!

Off to Work!

Well, today is my first day back at work and I'm not too happy about it. The last six months have gone by fast, too fast as a matter of fact! Well, everyone wish me luck, hopefully I won't cry too much on my way to work.
