Auntie Sharon & Uncle Ray's House

My Aunt and Uncle live on a lake and they invited us out for a BBQ and so I could go through some of my aunt's crafts supplies that she no longer wanted.

We spent the day enjoying each others company and Kayden enjoyed every bit of playing at their house.  He caught his first fish off of the dock.

Kayden liked playing in the rock bed.  He kept finding the "pretty" ones and throwing them into the lake.  He kept telling me, "I find a pretty one".  It was cute.

Here are two of the pretty rocks

After lunch Kayden wanted to go out on the boat.  So we suited him up in a life jacket and headed out on the lake.  We went over to the other end of the lake where the park is and got out so he/we could play at the park.  He had a lot of fun there.  Kayden loved going down the slide.

Once we got back to the house Kayden grabbed Uncle Ray and said, "Mon, sit with me", so Uncle Ray sat on the kiddie bench with Kayden and Kayden kept picking rocks up to show Uncle Ray.  It was cute.  Kayden, Kyle and I had a great time.  We don't get an opportunity to visit much with my aunt and uncle so spending time with them today was a lot of fun.

Weiner Dog Races

Every year one of the local radio stations puts on a Wiener Dog Race at Emerald Downs, which is a horse racing venue.  Kyle and I went once before in 2010 and had a lot of fun.  The first time we went we took Katie and Charlie.  Kayden was only about 10 months old so too little to have fun with it, but this year Kayden was old enough to participate in the activities they had there.
Besides having live horse racing and the Wiener Dog Race they also have other kid friendly activities.  This year there was face painting, mini horse rides and a bounce house.  We invited Charlie along with us, and my friend Heather and her family.

We had a lot of fun and hope to make it a yearly tradition!  It is so fun to watch the wiener dogs in action!

After the Wiener Dog Races and dinner we went home and had s'mores at Jim and Cindy's house.  Christy, Dean and Charlie joined us and I think we all enjoyed being outside, even if it was a bit chilly outside and we all needed coats.  :)

Kayden has had s'mores before, but not over an actual fire and he really dug it.  Luckily the marshmallow roasting sticks were long enough that I felt comfortable with him handling it.  And boy were the s'mores oh so yummy too.  It is one of those things that we don't indulge in too often because we aren't big campers, but I love the idea of having a little s'more party over and Jim and Cindy's house.  Hopefully we can have another one before the summer is over.

The Sun is Shining, Let's Play with Bubbles

We have had off and on good weather around here lately and one day last week the sun was shining so Kayden and Charlie played with their bubble guns!  Those things are so fun and they create so many bubbles.  All too fun.

That night after dinner, the boys wanted to play some more horseshoes, so we all went out to watch them.
