Fall Festival

The preschool Kayden attends had a Fall Festival today where they invited the families and had trick or treating, cake walk, age appropriate games and dinner.  Kayden is having a hard time with Trick or Treating and I'm not sure why.  When asked, he says, "I don't know how to say Trick or Treat", but he says it perfectly clear when answering and as some of you may recall, he didn't trick or treat last year and refused to wear his costume, so I'm not sure what this year will bring.  I guess we will wait and see.  Thus far, after the Downtown Burien Trick or Treating yesterday and today's Fall Festival we are batting zero.  Maybe Halloween just isn't his thing?  Although, he is LOVING his costume this year...and it is getting lots of use.

I really dislike these plastic teeth that Kayden seems to love so much.  They are funny until he starts to drool, then he pulls them out and they are all slobbery, then he wants to put them back in.  Um, YUCK.
 Blake likes them too.
 Fun with games and crafts.

Kayden and his two friends, a magician, and a butterfly.
This was the cake walk.  So, after the kids went trick or treating around the church they came back to start a cake walk.  The first number that was called was 16.  So, the next round Kayden lands on 16.  I told my friends that they aren't going to pick number 16 again, so when the lady pulls the number from the hat her face said it all, it was number 16...again!  Kayden immediately knew he had won and was excited.  He walked over and picked cupcakes.  Yummy.
Then on the third go around, our friend Emily won and she picked brownies.

And just like that the Fall Festival was over.  We will be looking forward to next years!

Carving Pupmkins

Today was the day that we carved pumpkins!  We set the date and got everything ready and then it was time to start carving!  It was a lot of fun this year, Kayden enjoyed it and was even able to help.

 Even Dean participated!

This pumpkin has a heavy lid!
Charlie was focused and doing a great job with carving her pumpkin.

Kayden wanted me to take a picture of his carving knife.

Time to pull out the drill.  He was making mama a polka dot pumpkin.  I love polka dots.

 Kayden loved using the drill.
Look at the two of them...so focused!

All the pumpkins turned out so awesome!

And here are the links to our previous Halloweens.

Fall Fun

We have been having some cold and foggy weather this last week or two and since it has been dry, we decided to have some Fall fun today.  I raked up the leaves while Kayden rode his bike.  Kayden loved being outside today, I wish we had more dry weather year round so we could spend more time outside.

Ranger got in on some Fall fun too!

And then our Fall fun turned into a Fall frown.
Love his little face!

Pumpkin Patch with Preschool

Today was Kayden's first field trip and it was to the pumpkin patch.  It was fun for the kids.  It started off with exploring the pumpkin patch and then the kids got to pick out a pumpkin, then is was class pictures time and it ended with a hay ride and looking at farm animals.

We overcame a few meltdowns and muddy falls, but we all left with a pumpkin and a hayride under out belts.

This was their funny face picture.

More funny faces.

They look so small next to this big tractor.

I, somehow, didn't get a picture of Emily next to the "How Tall This Fall" banner.
This is the pumpkin Kayden picked out today.
Kayden and Emily.  Sadly, I didn't get a picture of the whole class.  Too many adult heads in my way.

This kid sitting next to Kayden on the hay ride was funny.  I was trying to grab Kayden's attention for a picture and the whole time this kid was saying, "cheeeeesssssseeee, cheeeessssseeeee, cheeeeeessssseee".  I don't recognized this kid from Kayden's class either, so he must be with the four year old class.  Made me laugh.

There was even a cute bear at the pumpkin patch!

The pumpkin patch had its moments, but overall, I think the kids had a good time.  Kayden loved the hay ride, even though his teacher said he grabbed her a few times when it got too bumpy.
