This is going to be short and sweet...
We had nice weather this weekend so we decided to get Kayden out there and play. I think he is so ready to get outside and run around. He's been so cranky lately and I'm hoping that the little bit of sun we had will help put him in a good mood. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Visitors
Kyle's Aunt and Uncle from Napa, CA came into town last Thursday along with their two boys from the East Coast. They were here until Sunday and we all made the best of their time here. Kayden absolutely loved having some new people to play with and didn't let many of them get away with just sitting on the couch. He would motion them to sit on the floor with him and play with the remote control cars, blocks, etc. It was fun to watch him make new friends with his cousins and interact with some people he doesn't really know. Too cute.
Since, Kyle's Aunt, Mom, and Sister all have birthdays within a week and a half of each other so we decided to celebrate their birthdays together. Charlie and Kayden decorated a cake and cupcakes for the party and we celebrated with gifts. It was fun to be able to celebrate their birthdays together. See what I made them here
Over the weekend Kayden initiated many play dates and poker games. He would see the poker table set up and yell, "Poker". He rounded everyone up to start the game. It was cute.
We all enjoyed the visiting and talking and relaxing. All too much fun. Can't wait to do it again....hopefully soon!

Christy was having a difficult time keeping her eyes open when I was taking her picture, seriously, I took probably ten and all ten her eyes were closed, so Charlie was helping her out! |

Tacoma Children's Museum
On Wednesday Kyle and I took Kayden to the Tacoma Children's Museum. It is practically brand new, the new site opened in January, and although I can't compare the new site to the old one, I'm sure this one is way better. They had so many fun things for the kids. Kayden's favorite was the water station. It was too fun and he threw a little fit when it was time to move on, but thankfully it was a pretty small one! You never know these days, it is safe to say that we are currently in the terrible two's stage and can have many challenging days.
Overall the museum was a lot of fun and Kayden had a blast. He loved that he could run around and not get in trouble for touching things!
Now on to the real reason you stopped by, right, the pictures!

Fun in the Sun!
We just got back last night from San Diego. It was a great trip, wish we would have stayed longer. It isn't until you go to a sunny, warm place that you realize just how cold Seattle is!
When we arrived in San Diego on Saturday the sun was shinning and it was hot, in the 80's. We didn't have much planned for Saturday so once we were able to check into our hotel we went to Mission Beach and walked along the board walk. Kayden had fun chasing the birds and playing in the sand. I tell ya, he liked chasing the seagulls until they opened their wings, then he became a little more cautious. LOL.
On Monday we got up and went to Sea World. Kayden had a really awesome time and so did Kyle and I. Kayden was so good the whole trip, his schedule was completely disrupted, but he was a trooper and walked the whole time at Sea World and threw zero fits. It was awesome and just made me and Kyle realize how lucky we are to have an amazing kid!
Kayden loved seeing the dolphins and Shamu. He goes around telling people Big Whale, Big Splash and almost screams it as he is saying it. Very cute. We also saw Penguins and Sea Lions, they scared Kayden a bit when they barked, it was kind of funny.
We ended up going to Sea World twice, once on Monday and once on Tuesday. Since it is winter/spring months they close the park early, at 5, so it was difficult to see most of the park without running out of time, so on Monday we chased all the shows and on Tuesday we saw the other things, like the shark tank, turtles, road a few rides and played a few games. We had a lot of fun.
Sea World is so big, I had no idea. I am really glad we were able to go two days, when we left on Monday I really felt like we missed a lot of what the park had to offer, so it was nice to be able to get a second chance to see all the things we would have otherwise missed.
Then Wednesday it was time to pack up and return home. :( Kayden did awesome on the airplane. On the way down there he played the whole time and then on the way home he slept most of the time, we have really been lucky with him flying. I am extremely grateful for how well our whole trip went. It was a lot of fun! Going to CA and seeing the sunshine made me realize how much I am looking forward to the summer!

On Sunday we got up and visited Nana and Aunt Joyce and the rest of the family in Fullerton. Kayden had a ton of fun with Bailey, they are only a week or two apart. She is very cute! The kids had fun playing in the sprinkler and bubbles Aunt Wendy brought over. Kayden loves bubbles and I can't wait for this spring and summer so we can enjoy them outside! We play with them in the bath now, but that isn't the same as chasing them around outside and popping them once they land on the ground!
