Too Funny - A Must Read!

So, funny story to share with everyone! It's going to make you laugh, I know it did me. Kyle and I had gone to get Kayden's pictures taken today and after we finished up with the pictures Kayden had fallen asleep and was still asleep when we got home. Once Kayden woke up it was time to feed him, so Kyle got Kayden out of his car seat and realized how hot he was so we took of his pants to help him cool off. We got a bottle ready and Kyle sat down to feed Kayden. All of a sudden Kayden starts straining and we all know what he was doing, not only did his face tell all, but it was juicy, I know, too much information, but I'm just trying to set the scene for you guys. So, anyway, back to the story, Kyle moved his hand away from Kaydens thigh and that is when Kyle realized Kayden had blown out of his diaper and pooped on his hand. It gets funnier, not only had Kayden pooped on Kyle's hand, he also pooped on Kyle's jean and on the couch. One thing you should know about Kyle and that is from the first time we found out I was pregnant Kyle's fully expressed how terrified of poopy diapers he is, so for Kayden to poop on him is just too funny. Kyle was so disgusted, which to be honest, most people would be, but the look on Kyle's face made you wish you had a camera in your hand to capture the moment! Awww, one funny story to share among many more to come!

Great Aunt Sissy & Great Grandma

We had Kayden's Great Aunt Sissy and Great Grandma Sally visit from Napa, CA for the last three days and we had an awesome time. Kayden loved all the attention he got from them and he loved having them here. It's too bad they don't live closer so they can visit more often.

Great News

I took Kayden to the dr. today for his follow up appointment and there's good news to share, he's finally gained some weight! He weighed in at 9 lbs 2 oz, crazy, isn't it? He put on about 20 ounces in 1 week. The dr. said, "how is that possible?", but somehow it is, because he did it! Finally, things are falling into place and we are now on the right track. We no longer need to wake him up every 3 hours to eat! Yahoo, no more setting the alarm to wake up in the middle of the night. Kyle and I are both looking forward to that. His next apt. will be for his 1 month apt and he'll be getting a shot poor guy.

Pumpkin Patch

Kayden had his first trip to the pumpkin patch this weekend. We had a lot of fun and I think he did too. We dressed him in his monkey costume and got some great pictures of him. He might hate us one day for it, but for now, it's way too cute!

Eating!!!

So, since our dr. apt. on Monday Kayden has been eating like crazy. He's been chowing down on the formula and can't seem to get enough of it, so hopefully at his dr. apt on Monday the scale will prove just how much he's been eating. I tell ya what, it's nice to be able to monitor how much he is actually eating. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that the scale will show at least 8 lbs on Monday. It's crazy to me that the little guy is two and a half weeks already. Everyone told me it would go fast, but it's crazy how fast it really goes! Follow Up Appointment

So we went to the dr. today and unfortunately, Kayden hasn't gained any weight, he's the same as last week, so the struggle for him to gain weight continues. The dr. wants me to start feeding him formula so we can monitor how much he is actually eating. We'll go back next Monday for another weight check, I'll update you again then. We also got the results from the ultrasound that was done on his kidneys and all is A-OK, no need to do anything more with that, so at least the dr. had some good news for us! Doctor Appointments

Hey there, guys, just wanted to update you on Kayden. He's doing well. We have an apt. tomorrow to make sure he is still gaining weight, so everyone keep their fingers crossed that he is still gaining.

On Friday we went to Children's hospital to get an ultrasound on his kidneys. I had a two vessel umbilical cord and a normal pregnancy has three, so the dr. wanted us to get an ultrasound done on his kidneys because kids with a two vessel cord often times have problems with their kidneys. The ultrasound tech wouldn't tell us anything except that he has two kidneys, so that is a good starting point. I'm hoping the dr. will have the ultrasound results tomorrow when I go in. I'll update you once we get the results. I tell ya what though, compared to so many of those kids at the hospital we saw, we sure are lucky and have no room for complaints with Kayden. He is very healthy and happy and we couldn't have asked for a better baby.

He's Here!!!

So, Kayden finally made an appearance on Sunday, Sept 20 after many hours of labor. We went in and were admitted to the hospital on Friday and finally delivered on Sunday at 12:01 pm. He weighed in at a whopping 8 lbs 9 oz and 20 inches long. It was a long couple days, but well worth it. On Tuesday we were able to leave the hospital and finally come home. After spending 5 days in the hospital it was nice to sleep in my own bed and shower in my own bathroom.

Kayden has been a ton of fun. He does the typical newborn schedule, sleeps all day and is up all night. Hopefully we'll be able to get that flip around and on a regular schedule soon. We took him to the dr. yesterday and he's doing well, they are concerned with his weight loss, so we are going to take him back in Saturday and Monday to see what is weight is, if he's lost anymore weight then we'll have to consider supplementing his feedings. I'll keep you posted on how the next two appointments go.

Still No Baby!

Well, there's still no baby. Had the procedure done yesterday and that started the contractions, but didn't put me into active labor. So, if I don't go into the hospital tonight with more intense contractions, she'll induce me tomorrow. Still, with any luck, we'll have a baby before the weekend. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that there will be a baby before Sat!

Baby Before the Weekend???

I had a dr. apt today and there's good news, I finally can see the light at the end of the tunnel! The dr. is sending me in tomorrow for a procedure that will help put me into labor. She doesn't think I'll deliver tomorrow, but most likely we'll have a baby by Friday! Yahoo!!! We'll update you tomorrow and again this weekend.

Final Ultrasound

I had an ultrasound this morning and I'm pretty sure it will be my last one since the baby is due so soon. The dr. wanted to have the fluid around the baby measured and wanted to verify his size. He isn't too big, he's averaged out, thankfully. He is measuring 7 lbs 15 oz, and ultrasounds usually overestimate weight, so it's likely he'll be smaller than that at birth. I have a dr. apt. this week, so I'll update you then. Everyone keep their fingers crossed that this baby comes before the end of the week! We're anxious to meet the little guy!

Another Dr. Apt Today!

I had another dr. apt today and things are going well. I'm dilated to 1.5 cm, which isn't much more progress than last week, but I'll take it, even small progress is progress, right? So, we'll see how this next week goes. I have an ultrasound on Monday and another dr. apt. on Wed and with any luck, I'll be able to cancel them and share even bigger news with you guys before then! 9-9-09

Ok, so I really wanted to have the baby today, but it doesn't appear that is going to happen. He's too cozy in there. Not sure he realizes there is more room out here than there is in my belly, but what can I say, this little guy is a little stubborn I guess. How cool would it have been to have a birthday of 9-9-09??? It would have been pretty awesome. Oh, well, I guess this little guy will come out when he's ready, not when I am!!!

Jello Pool

Last weekend we had a jello pool! The girls had a blast, just take a look at the pictures. What kid wouldn't love to swim and play in jello and not get in trouble for it? This gives a whole new meaning to playing with your food.

2 Weeks To Go!

Went to the dr today and things are moving forward, slowly, but that's better then having things at a stand still, I suppose. I'm dialated to a 1. I have another apt next week and an ultrasound the week after, with any luck I'll have to cancel those appointments! :) Keep your fingers crossed, We're very ready to meet this little guy.
